Shane travelled to Scotland and England in November as guitarist for two-time JUNO award winner David Francey. Shane will be touring with David again in the Spring.

Several tracks from Wild Rice were added for to the rotation for the Instrumental/New Age Channel at CBC's all music service Galaxie. Wild Rice has been receiving airplay across Canada on CBC Radio (DiscDrive, North by Northwest) as well as numerous community and college radio stations. Ottawa’s own CKCU 93.1 has been especially supportive, with feature interviews on Canadian Spaces, Window of Opportunity and Weekend Warmup. Wild Rice has also received airplay in the United States, Germany, Slovania, Greece and even as far away as New Zealand!

Shane is the "Artist of the Month" for April at the 13th fret. The 13th fret website is dedicated to the acoustic guitar and all things related. In addition to showcasing a different acoustic guitarist every month, the Fret has a popular guitar discussion forum as well as hundreds of links to various acoustic guitar resources.

The German magazine Akustik Guitarre has chosen "More Acoustic" off Wild Rice to include in the sampler that accompanies each issue of the magazine!! The magazine will also include a review in the issue. The magazine is slated to hit newstands in Europe on April 30th. Akustik Guitarre is the largest acoustic guitar magazine in Europe.

Back from Winterfolk II in Toronto. The music festival is the brainchild of Toronto singer-songwriter Brian Gladstone, and featured more that 70 acts from across North America at 5 venues over a three day period. The event was an overwhelming success. Shane took part in three workshops, as well as a feature performance at the Free Times Cafe. The new Paul Bourdeau and Shane Simpson instrumental CD "Wild Rice" is now available. The CD was recorded this past August over a two-day period at Segment Studios. The CD includes 12 original compositions in the "jazzgrass" tradition - fusing jazz and bluegrass.
